You know what? I REALLY wish I’d screenshotted this, because when I first
saved the link, I could have sworn it was a fact-check article claiming to
prove the guy “brought” zip-ties, which is false. When I checked the article
again it said he was “with” zip-ties which is true. I swear it didn’t used to say
that. Probably when people like Glen Greenwald started complaining about
no one getting their facts right, they finally adjusted it, but the correct thing
to do in that situation is draw attention to the fact that made a mistake and
are issuing a correction, you’re not supposed to change it and hope no one
noticed, that makes it hard for people to keep the real truth straight. I could
just be remembering it wrong, but it was only a couple weeks ago and I recall
it so distinctly… this little incident is a good example of the ethereal nature
of truth in the early 2020s.
